| Dhaka, Jan 19 (bdprem.com) – Former prime minister Khaleda Zia will soon be freed on parole Saturday for several hours to attend the funeral of her mother Toyeba Majumdar, the home ministry said in a statement. Khaleda's two sons Tarique Rahman and Arafat Rahman Coco will also be released on parole. A helicopter will carry the body of Toyeba to Dhaka from Dinajpur. DMP commissioner Naim Ahmed told bdnews24.com that the police put in place an adequate security arrangement for Khaleda and her two sons. Toyeba's son Shamim Eskander—accompanied by his wife—arrived in Dinajpur Saturday morning to take the body to Dhaka. Khaleda's lawyer Barrister Ahmed Azam Khan had earlier told bdprem.com that the body of Toyeba would be flown to Dhaka Cantonment. The body will then be taken to Azad Mosque in Gulshan for a namaz-e-janaza after Johr prayers. The body will be flown back to Dinajpur town for burial. Toyeba died of heart attack at a Dinajpur hospital Friday, aged 87. |
