Garment workers clash with police in Mirpur

Several hundred workers of about 20 RMG factories including MBM Garments and Opex Garments took to the streets at about 2pm and demonstrated. Workers damaged different RMG factories and vandalised some passing cars, witnesses said. The road from Mirpur No. 10 roundabout to Kachukhet was closed for some time, causing severe traffic jam. Police and other law-enforcement agencies were deployed in Mirpur.
