UN council to consult on Bhutto killing

UNITED NATIONS, Dec 27 (bdprem desk) - The United Nations Security Council will hold consultations at noon EST (1700 GMT) on Thursday following the assassination of Pakistani opposition leader Benazir Bhutto, UN spokeswoman Marie Okabe said.

The consultations -- closed discussions between envoys of the 15 council member states -- could lead to a statement on Bhutto's assassination in the city of Rawalpindi, council diplomats said.
