| Dhaka, Nov 19 (prem) – Police Monday remanded Tarique Rahman, elder son of former prime minister Khaleda Zia, for five days in custody for questioning him in two extortion cases. Police appealed for a seven-day remand to Magistrate Sultan Mahmud for Chief Metropolitan Magistrate's Court in the case filed by businessman Khairul Bashar. The court however ordered a three-day remand. It issued allowed another two-day remand in another extortion case filed by businessman Harun Ferdousi. Tarique was produced before the court at 12:10pm. |
